Yeah, it's been a while. To the point of "Oh yeah, I still have a blog. Why did I create THAT?". Remembering the reason why - to explore what it is to be Two-Spirit and communicate how this human-ish being is dealing with it.
There are lots of resources for Trans* folks these days, lots of support around transitioning, transgendered youth, social acceptance now that gay marriage is pretty much settled. Not so much for the genderfluid, and to some degree, androgynous fools. It's not that I'm looking for support inasmuch as dialog with other beings that can relate to who I say I am.
Dichotomy is at the basis of my dilemma. A gay friend had it that I was transitioning, and in some ways I am. I'm not looking to flip (or prepare to) my gender switch, I'm just exploring the freedom to tweak the um...knob at-will. Of course there are... risks? consequences? issues? all and/or some of the above? with choosing not to choose, and "coming out" as non-binary is not a concept western society is in practice of doing. Dichotomies are convenient little packages, whereas the grey area of the Two-Spirit/genderfluid just gets us labeled as freaks and ostracized. WHEE!!!
So...
I'm creating a schedule for updating this blog by Monday every week. It'll probably happen on Sundays, but sometimes, like this coming weekend, it just can't. So I'm looking forward to seeing what comes out of my fingertips! Maybe I'll even pick up a few followers and friends along the way!
